When I found out my first graphic novel, Pinocchio: Vampire Slayer (with ass-kicking artist Dusty Higgins) would be solicited in the July Diamond Previews catalog, of course I had to go out and get a copy.
So I went over to Criminal Records, a great shop in Atlanta’s Little Five Points neighborhood, and slapped down $4.50 for some nerdy self-congratulating. And, wow, Slave Labor Graphics is doing an awesome job of promoting the book. Pinocchio shows up on at least six different pages, including a full-page ad and a staff pick.
Speaking of the staff pick, you should go read it right now, because it’s got some great things to say about the book. Such as:
If you’re a fan of rehashed fairy tales, this book is for you. If you love tongue-in-cheek humor, this book is for you. And if you privately yearn to see a three foot-tall puppet take on five vampires at once — well, don’t look an inch further, because Pinocchio delivers.
Some photographic evidence of Pinocchio’s Previews dominance:
