In the wake of X-Men: Messiah Complex, the title X-Men is going to transform into X-Men: Legacy (as of issue #208) from the following press release sent out by Marvel. Mike Carey retains writing duties. Everything clear so far?
Now, the obvious question: What the heck is going to be different about X-Men: Legacy?
Judging from the preview material (covers to issues 208 and 209 as well as some penciled interiors by Scott Eaton), it looks to a certain degree that the X-Men are headed back toward the normative years: Xavier at the helm, old mutants teaching new mutants, etc. No surprise, Wolverine is still on the team, though he’s also moving over to the new X-Force. Oh, and of course, Magneto’s back (Wanda and Pietro too?).
Here’s the Marvel release:
X-Men: Legacy continues the aftermath of Messiah CompleX, centering on the lives of Professor X, Magneto, Rogue and Gambit. With the X-Men no more, mutantkind must look to the past as they move forward into a future like you’ve never seen before! Similar to the acclaimed X-Men: Deadly Genesis, this ongoing series promises to reveal shocking secrets about your favorite mutants while also launching a bold new era for the X-Men.
